Job description
Responsible for ensuring that existing automation equipment and systems are functioning as intended to deliver maximum output while maintaining highest product quality. Support implementation of next generation Automation equipment and continuous improvement initiatives, under appropriate guidance and leadership

Essential functions and Responsibilities:
Existing Automation Equipment:
Configure, repair, and support automated assembly and test equipment in a hybrid manufacturing cleanroom.
Optimize the programming of automated systems to improve repeatability, reliability, and product yields
Work closely with the engineering team to improve methods, materials and cost of the production of the products
Perform preventive maintenance of equipment on a regular basis to ensure reliability of the process
Respond quickly to resolve issues and problems with equipment and processes on the manufacturing floor
Ensure safety and quality procedures are followed at all times
Support the manufacturing operation at the direction of the Director of Operations
Next Generation Automation Equipment:
Prepare automation equipment for production operation readiness, including but not limited to pre – conditioning runs and eccentricity checks
Ensure automated systems are set to regulation parameters, meet quality standards and all production goals.
Ability to review automation equipment blueprints and verify against actual equipment to highlight any deficiencies.
Troubleshoot, problem solve, relieve operators, apply solution as required or requested and ensure processes are running within the predetermined control parameters. This will include making adjustments within allowable limits and/or evaluating operator techniques and/or evaluating materials to assure acceptable products
Develops, recommends and implements corrective action to improve efficiency.
Develop work instructions and training manuals for production technicians and operators to ensure that appropriate procedures are being followed during day – to – day execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
2-year technical degree in a mechanical, electronic or software-based field; OR equivalent experience in a highly technical environment.
1 – 2 years of manufacturing experience, including processes, workflows, basic electrical / automation equipment and industrial techniques
Ability to work with various computer software programs
Must be able to manage multiple priorities
Must have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write reports and correspondence as needed
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of the organization as required
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years related experience and/or training with automation systems; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge in computer hardware and software systems including experience with programming and databases (i.e. visual basic, C++, access)
3 – 5 years of manufacturing experience, including processes, workflows, basic electrical / automation equipment and industrial techniques.
Ability to independently solve technical and/or mechanical issues
