Job description
General Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the development of discrete, hybrid, and custom IC design products.
Essential functions and Responsibilities:
· Transistor level design of high-voltage and high-power products using discrete semiconductor and passive components in hybrid and SMT assembly technologies.
· Specification and selection of discrete semiconductors, passive components, and IC components for use in analog and mixed signal designs.
· Hybrid and SMT circuit layout supervision.
· Bread boarding/prototyping
· Conduct design verification and validation.
· Collaborate with marketing, test, automation, process, and applications engineers to develop high performance analog and mixed signal products from initial concept phase throughout the product release process.
· Participate in product definition and design specification.
· Create the necessary design and product documentation and participate in design reviews.
· Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Proficiency in design tools including Spice simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout.
· Data collection and post processing.
· Present data to peers, management, and customers
· Translate customer and market requirements into design requirements and product specifications.
Job requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
· BS in Electrical Engineering; AND
· Zero – Three (0-3) years of relevant industry experience (electronics) with an understanding of analog and/or mixed signal design
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced Engineering degree.
· Proven competence in operational amplifier design.
· Power circuits design and development.
· Experience with hybrid microcircuit or multichip module technologies.
· Design team lead experience including coordination of cross-functional product development resources.
· Schedule planning and tracking using software tools such as MS Project.
· Hybrid and board-level circuit layout experience.
· Lab characterization and debug skills.
